SAMBASHIYA

広島県南西部に位置する呉市、呉中央桟橋ターミナル2階にあるカフェ「さんばしや」のインテリアプロジェクト。

地形的に天然の良港と言われる呉港を臨み、人々の通勤、通学を支えている呉中央桟橋ターミナルは大和ミュージアムの隣に位置し、立地としては恵まれていたがターミナル内は人もまばらで寂れているような印象が拭いきれない場所だった。

プロジェクトの敷地はターミナル2階南西側の2区画に位置し窓からは穏やかな瀬戸内海を臨むことが出来る。

この景色を多くの人にゆったりと楽しんでもらいたいと願うクライアントの話に共感し、店内はオープンキッチンを中心とし、それぞれの席から海に向かう目線がぶつからないようにレイアウトした。

さんばしやは店内だけでなくテイクアウトして外でも食事を楽しんでいただけるようなメニュー構成のカフェであるため、店内の壁は全て瀬戸漆喰で仕上げ、ニュートラルなボックスの様に空間を見立て、要所要所にアイキャッチな色を差していくことで、屋外とのコントラストを作り、心地よい空間を目指した。

The project site is located on two plots on the southwest side of the terminal’s second floor, with windows overlooking the calm Seto Inland Sea. 

In response to the client’s request that many people enjoy this view in a relaxed atmosphere, the cafe is arranged around an open kitchen and laid out so that the line of sight from each seat facing the sea does not collide.

As SAMBASHIYA is a cafe with a menu that allows customers to enjoy eating outside as well as inside, all the walls inside the shop are finished with SETO plaster to create a neutral box-like space. By adding eye-catching colors in key places, the aim was to create a pleasant space that contrasts with the outdoors.
